Regarding, How nice it would be all people on this planet to speak the same language!

.. You'll need to reference, the 'Old Testament'..{Christian Bible}.. Under - 'Tower of Babel.' - Reading it directly, might be Less 'illuminating'.. {if you will}.. Than some 'exegesis' of that account, or 'story.' o:

It's been a long time coming, but the new version of Chess.com is finally ready to take online chess to a new level—and take your game to new heights.

This new version (v3) has been our top priority for two years, and enhances every aspect of the Chess.com experience.

Everything is new:

  • The latest web technologies let us add features we could only dream of in the past.
  • Gorgeous, rich new graphics make the site, the boards, and the pieces beautiful in the highest definition.
  • The user experience has been revised everywhere, with a focus on clarity, simplicity and relevance.

And despite all that, Chess.com v3 still feels like Chess.com—but evolved: easier, faster, more powerful. And more fun.

In addition to fantastic new features, our technology overhaul has allowed gains in other important areas. For instance, our mobile web experience is far better with v3. We've also greatly updated and enhanced our anti-abuse and anti-cheating technology site-wide.

(You can always switch back.)

Watch this introductory video for a quick look at the new Chess.com:

Reading the above, I agree that the app experience is greatly improved in the last few years. The browser experience has improved with the addition of :

  • immediate computer analysis
  • fixed the Game Explorer to include user's own games
  • fixed tactics trainer so that no matter how long you take, you don't lose points for a wrong answer

I guess if I played bughouse or variants I'd be pretty happy.

It would be nice if it were some explanation were given as to what they actually mean when they say that  "anti-abuse and anti-cheating technology has improved."

I would imagine that "anti-abuse and anti-cheating technology has improved."  is kept vague for a reason.

I understand that but still, a little more info wouldn't reveal their methods.

chess.com has always been very secretive about that.  Turn kayknight loose on it and see what he can dig up.

I like V2 better than V3...but ,3 looks like it's from outer space...

otherdog-101:  I didn't mean when you delete a comment that has replies. I get your point about that.    I mean just  a lone comment or question that you might ask and then you quickly realize what the issue is and thus delete so no one wastes time replying!

Someone could be replying to your post when you delete it. I have had that happen when editing before.

I've been thinking about leaving chess.com for some time now, largely due to sandbagging, abuse and general gobshitery.  V3 has pretty much sealed it for me.

I'm usually positive towards upgrades and prepared to put up with the teething problems for what will be a better experience in the long run.  But I'm really struggling with this one, particularly when I have to keep resigning games because I cannot see my opponents knights.

Avatar of Martin_Stahl

I have seen a couple of posts on knight problems, including your post. Normally, clearing cache may help with things like that but I have never seen the problem manifest on v3 for me.

I like the new version! But it would be nice if it didn't tell me that the newest version of safari on iPad isn't modern enough.

I HATE the new version.  How do I get back to the old version

For now you can use the switch link in the menu. The icon looks like a square recycle symbol.

Or use www.chess.com/switch.

At some point v2 will go away and only v3 will be available.

How can I stay forever in version 2?

You can't. v2 will be deleted at some point.

I'm nervous about v3 but I am going to do my best to get used to it. It will be a challenge for this luddite.  But I'm not going to have a hissy fit and throw my toys out of the pram.

It has some excellent features and I wish they would implement it as the standard soon because its annoying posting images to blogs in version three only to have them chopped in version two

Horrible! Absolutely Horrible! This site just gets progressively crappier and crappier. Confusing, ugly graphics, difficult to navigate, includes tons of unneccessary garbage........ but that's me! Apparently some idiots think this is an improvement: namely the schmucks who designed it. Somebody please shoot me if I ever pay another red cent to this lame, piece of junk website for my worthless membership.........

And yet youre still here...
