It's under Learn, Explorer. (There's also Openings.)

I definitely agree that v2's game explorer feature is far preferable to v3's. I have a very difficult time using game explorer in v3.

I believe that v3 is a monumental achievement, and as a person who programmed computers for 300 years, I'd like to  congratulate the development team.

 300?

eric, maybe you need to double check that 85% number. It is very very hard for me to believe that 85% of users at any given time are using v3.

eric probably means that 85% of users can't figure out how to get back to version 2. Tongue Out

Additionally, I agree with you JustADude80.  A number of teams are suddenly finding that members have become inactive.  And on the gripping hand (Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle referenceWink) perhaps there is an increase of users who merely head straight to live chess and forego the rest of the site.  But then it's only supposition and we're hardly in a position to doubt eric's word are we?

Although, I get suspicious when a company or entity crows about how great things are going....tends to happen more often just before they collapse.  Hmm, or is that ponzi schemes I'm thinking of?  Lol, oh well.

In one of the groups I am an admin of, out of 9 players in a one of the tourneys (on early Monday) 6 were on v3, 1 on Android, and 2 on v2.  While that is very anecdotal, I certainly don't find it hard to believe.

Now, whether that is because they like v3, just haven't switched or what, I can't say. grin.png

I'll try to watch tonight's tourney on a full PC and gather the numbers there.

I think that slowly breaking v2 (no chess.com tv for instance; I didn't leave I just found a good website) is a bad idea. I really like chess.com but I think v2 is slow hard to use and frustrating. On one device I'm on v3 because when I press on change it says that I'm not allowed to. This is frustrating.

Just tuned in to chess tv to watch world championship game... even more of an eyesore than v3 in general...

I feel a Harry Hill moment coming on... which one's best? There's only one way to find out...

To be fair, Eric & the Code team could put up a huge homepage banner asking the 85% whether they wished to remain on the new site for 'switch' back to the Old Chess.com. That would still statistically favor V3 as you'd have agnostics who couldn't care less about the choice (I.e. they're content with either) and you'd have a few who fear the word 'Old' and fear being relegated (& stuck) forever to a backward system. But that would be a better metric / look in to true V3 reception rates.

Chess.com is using the official widget and the other site is relaying I think. So not really a good comparison, in my opinion.

so chess tv for this match is outside of chess.com control?

Martin_Stahl

My understanding is the chat window is Chess.com's, the actual game is the official widget for the championship.

I am V3 now watching the match.  Why can't I turn off the chat box?  Can't find a button for that.  It is annoying.
