Express if you like or do not like the new version of the site

The forum tab is pretty annoying in V3, they should have kept the same menu items instead of directing us to places that we might never frequent out of lack of interest.  The old forum tab menu was much more personalised.

The drills are awesome on V3, like going to a chess gym!

 I like the new version.
It's a little slower but that is dependent on one's computer system.
1. As a Free Member I am now able to play chess against the computer at varying levels which helps to practice moves and responses. Excellent for learning.
2. I can Analyze my moves and plan further moves.

3. A new feature, formerly reserved only for subscribed members, is that I can predetermine moves in response to my opponent's move. One can even set up more than one option. That is brilliant.

4. the new board layout allows for the board to be larger on the screen and the dark background makes the actual figures stand out more clearly  and give one a better oversight.

For me the new version is excellent.

I can't work out how to play unrated games in live chess, help please!

I know you can play unrated but I'm not sure how. Put your question in the help forum.

I just went to V3 to try and work out how...what a nightmare!

Does anyone think the Live chess settings in V3 are an improvement over V2?

Wow, if i can't play unrated in v3, that is another BIG problem.

Select "Custom Challenge" and then use the toggle to turn off "Rated"

I tend to prefer what I'm familiar with, and from the little I've looked at v3 not seen anything terribly appealing.

That said, I've been here long enough that I remember when we moved from v1 to v2, and the conversation was exactly the same.  We all got used to it in time; I expect it'll be the same here.

The update was scary at first for me but then I got used to it and unlike most updates they didn't take away features they just added them so im thankful for the update

Focus mode when playing live is very good! I find it so much easier to consentrade when playing live, and my live-rating shows it too. My rating is only going up!!

I don't doubt that it will take somee getting used to. i don't doubt that after i use it for some time I will  like it better.

However, if a key feature is missing, that is not a case of getting used to the new version. That is a case of it being bad.

What key feature is missing? You can play unrated easily and the method isn't much different than v2. In both you have to create a custom challenge.
