Feature Request or Maybe I'm an Idiot

I'm getting back into chess after decades of hiatus so I've been doing the online chess. One thing that's neat is the analyze board. Usually I set up a real board and sit down in my opponents spot but now that multiple games are going, that isn't practical, hence using the analyze board. One feature I think would be cool though, is to have an option to send the ideas you come up with on the analyze board, directly to your notes. Or if that feature already exists, I'm an idiot and would really like to know how to send ideas to notes. Thank you.

Quite a nice idea. Variations that you play out in the board get "notation-converted" into your notes.

Yes, I like that idea too.

You are no idiot, Sir.

I often copy and paste the movelist, but that's not ideal. Looks like this:

1.e4c5
2.d4cxd4
3.Nf3Nc6
4.c3dxc3
5.Nxc3d6
6.Bc4a6

Ha! I am an idiot ;D There is a feature called conditional moves that let's you do what I'm wanting... not copy to notes really, but saves lines of play from an analysis board.

Wrinn

The only thing you need to be careful about involving conditional moves is that they are played out immediately upon your opponent's next turn - if it follows in one of your lines - and if you discover that you've made a mistake in your analysis it will often be too late to undo your conditional lines to prevent them from being played out.

Yeah, but understand that the conditional moves are "live" - the computer will play them for you if your opponent triggers them. But saving things in notes doesn't trigger moves.

LeggomyEigo

That sucks... I played a whole bunch to test. :D Thanks for the heads up!

AlCzervik

As TheGrobe shows, it will probably not be implemented any time soon. When I come up with what I think is a nice play, I will write the game notation in the notes for the game. If you don't want the "instant" conditional moves, it's pretty much all you can do.

seems nothing will trump paper and pencil.
