Game Explorer: Adding Advanced Search Feature

It would be incredibly helpful if one could limit the games by more than "master games / my chess games / other players games".

For example, I always wish I could search:

"Master games"

"Since 2000"

More features could be fun, but I think that being able to limit the search results by date would be a relatively simple improvement, with enormous increase in utility of the game explorer feature.

Pretty please.

You can, but the feature is broken.

In the upper right is a magnifying glass that says "Search Games".  Click that and then "Show more advanced options."  Unfortunately, the feature is useless without a player name.  Why it needs a player name at all, I don't know.

I suggest emailing support to tell them to fix it.  I, too, want to be able to filter out games with, say, low rated players playing a master and games from 30 years ago.

Oh wow, you speaka ze truth. Yeah, kinda useless for the average player if you MUST have the player. I shall e-mail support in your honor!

Just e-mailed them, but it looks like that isn't programmed to be integrated into the game explorer that we know and love, but rather act as a separate PART of the game explorer, wherein you search for specific games.

If you input a player and get it to work, it takes you to a list of games. You choose one, and view the game, but you can't just look at a position and see all the moves that have been played, how many times, and the win rate. :-(

Really wish I had looked into it before e-mailing them, because I asked the question as if it were already integrated into the game explorer, so they might get confused or, more likely, think me a fool (which is probably the case regardless).

In my experience, they're pretty good at having a dialogue with you.  If they don't understand what you mean, they'll ask you to clarify.

Sweet. Thanks.
