Group Protest

Post was made 2 weeks ago.

All programmers on Chess.com do multiple jobs in different areas of the sites code, its not a case of one programmer = one job. They have to shuffle, organise and prioritise their own work schedules on the many different projects they are working on. Sadly asking for something one day doesn't mean its there for you the following. These things take time to create, test, fix if an issue is found, retest before its added to the site. It is time consuming and I'm sorry, but we can't add this as soon as you want it on here. We have said we're bringing it back and we will, as soon as the new way of having it shown is completed and ready to be added:)

THANKS Kohai I appreciate the fact that an issue that's important to some of the members here (besides me that isTongue Out) is going to be fixed and better later than never!

They say patience is a byproduct, while I'm waiting I think I'll go find some more of whatever it is that it's a byproduct of.  Excuse the preposition.

wormrose

...patience is a byproduct? Never heard that one before. I've heard "Patience is a virtue!" Or let's say, patience is a root strength. Cool

i0NE

Patience also related or = intelligent ( sorry just kidding while we beings waiting :P Sealed )

Someone said recently - Patience isn't about just waiting, its how you behave while you're waiting :)

Was that someone who was asking another someone to wait? Laughing

kohai

LOL no it was a random post in live chess main hall

Dark_N_Stormy_Knight

The quote is "Patience is a byproduct of tribulations."  Judging by my friend Bob, it just isn't true.

i0NE

No it's true :) your friend bob didn't lied, sorry don't be angry we just making fun for our waiting goes faster...cheers :)

Dark_N_Stormy_Knight

If you knew the tribulations Bob has gone through without the slightest, most trivially miniscule shred of patience, you'd understand why I said that.

i0NE

Yes sir :)

nikre

yep, seems those starting positions are mixed up.

but i think it means someone is working on it, good to know.

Hey! I'm in the Scotch Gambit group! So you have to listen to me. Because if you don't give us back our opening Chess.com admins will listen to this for eternity:

nikre

hey linuxblue1, thanks for your support. but CC staff already agree to fix that problem, so lets just wait Smile

gaereagdag

OK. I'll keep the Scottish highlanders ready to go, just in case.

To Chess.com staff or whoever it may concerns:

hello,

We are a small group using ''Scotch Gambit'' opening as our theme opening in all of our group matches (http://www.chess.com/groups/home/scotch-gambiteers).

However, our theme opening Scoth Gambit (1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. d4 exd4 4. Bc4) has been removed from the standard starting position several weeks ago. Since then our group is halted because we can not make any new team matches. Although I tried to report this to Chess.com technical section and posted a forum topic here (http://www.chess.com/forum/view/suggestions/standard-starting-position-in-a-new-gamematch), we didnt get any positive answer from anyone, nobody cares about this.

Now, on the behalf of all of our group members, once again I kindly ask Chess.com:

1. Please put back our theme opening to the standard starting position.

2. DON'T IGNORE US, we need a clear answer for this.

3. Is it soooooo difficult thing for Chess.com technicians to put it back? it was there before, why this and some other opening positions had been removed?

Looking forward comments/answers from Chess.com

best regards

Scotch Gambiteers' SA, nikre

we have waited another 7 weeks after this topic posted here, any news for us? except the new game/match standard position is still a mess there?

NimzoRoy

If you start setting up an individual game challenge under advanced options the thematic list is once again very extensive AFTER you type in an ECO Code (you'll get several or more choices for that specific code displayed)

Unfortunately this feature does not work when you try setting up a thematic tnmt - under "advanced options" as above - which is where it is most needed!

+1

Dark_N_Stormy_Knight

Patience is what you have when you believe the eventual outcome will be in your favor.

After 7 (read: SEVEN!) additional weeks I'd say they are too understaffed to deal with the problem and are in way over their heads.  My diamond membership is due soon too.  These thematic tournaments are the main reason I'm a premium member.
