Increase the time for reconnection, please!

I play 15|10 games and 5|5 game, and my phone had just lost its signal and started the countdown of 60 seconds, unfortunately i reconnected my phone after ~70 seconds ...and i lost the game.

My question is; WHY?!

I had still 5 minutes of time ... WHY i lost a game if the signal is interrupted for ~70 seconds only?

Is absolutely unfair

If i have still 2 or 5 or 8 or 10 minutes of my time, i MUST HAVE 2, 5, 8 or 10 minutes of time to reconnect.

Only if my time finish, i lose the game; this is the correct way, not the chess.com way.

Please, change the reconnection time.

I think they set up the 60 seconds thing because some sore losers disconnect on purpose in a losing position just to frustrate their opponents. This way people have to waste less time. It is a good solution against those people but I agree for fair players who accidently lost their connection, 60 seconds is too less time to get reconnected. I have once lost my connection too in a winning 15|0 game and I totally understand why people would pull their hair out for 60 seconds. In my opinion 2 or 3 minutes to reconnect would be better especially in long time controls. This doesn't let us wait too long in games against the "sore losers" who disconnect and gives us enough time to reconnect :)

Don't blame chess.com- blame sore losers.

Yes, a good middle way is to give 120 or 180 seconds for reconnecting.

60 seconds is a too short time for the reconnections;

a lot of tablets/phones and routers needs a little bit more time for the reconnections.

A perfect way is ~150 seconds.

Yes is true, but the rules should be made for the correct players not against the idiots.

Because make the rules "against the idiots only", damage the correct players.

Add pay for play.  Buy extra reconnection time with a membership subscription.

The longer time controls, you get more time for reconnection. Try playing daily games. You will have the time left on your clock as the time for reconnection (+making a move). grin.png

Now is happened a strange thing;

I was in a winning position against "Kiarotta" user, then my opponents was disconnected for all the 60 seconds....but instead of my win, started MY COUNTDOWN of disconnected signal!!!

But, internet was perfect, the signal was strong, and internet worked during the countdown.!!!..i tried to open facebook, and all was ok! I came back to the game and the countdown was there, and i lost the game?!?

What the hell happened?

Chess.com had BIG problems for the connections, big big, problems.....

I think that chess.com is not good for mobile internet.

I live in italy, Roma, the capital....with a stronger 4G signal everywhere, the problems are in chess.com, not in the signal.

Fabio656

I am tired to lose games for false disconnections.

I guess to remove my year subscription.

If you're not using the official Chess.com app, then you might wanna.

Otherwise it's a bug.

Or the network connection you're using was being used up by other devices.

Or...

Idk..

Fabio656

bhaa.......i think is a bug because i use the official App for my tablet Samsung Tab S 10.5".

It Is really frustrating to lose in a winning position for a false disconnection problem. meh.png

I know, right? I have been there a few times. So I always play when I know my connection is ok.

Fabio656

Now is arrived to me an alert of chess.com for the disconnections(this message told me that i risk some restrictions sad.png ), but i am not guilty, now i contact the support.

Fabio656

Just now I reported this problems to the chess.com support.

Fabio656

What?!

I have over than 10 minutes of time, my phone have a problem for 60 seconds (in a WINNING position also)...and i lose the game?!?

And the other 9 minutes of MY time, why are not good for trying a reconnection!!???

I understand that this 60 seconds of countdown is a weapon against the disconnectors, but if i have time, is not correct to lose a game for 60 seconds of signal troubles....

The rules should be made for correct players, not for trolls, disconnectors and losers.....

Fabio656

And read also the other messages, sometime it happen with a strong mobile signal, i think is an app bug

Fabio656

is not absolutly true.

also correct players can disconnect if a bug in the app or a signal problem happen.

i repeat for the 10th times;

my few disconnections happened always in winning position with winning material.

in these case...or i am creazy that i disconnect when i am winning (and i write this topic in the forum), or there are a signal/server/App-bug problems.
