Offensive Username

I was wondering why does chess.com allows extremely offensive usernames like [Content removed- No naming and shaming. Mod]

GSHAPIROY

What's so offensive about that?

heinzie

The Christoph Waltz pic makes it slightly less offensive though. But the profile is provocative, surely.

Maybe it's not offensive to you but I come from a country where a quarter of the population was killed during the second war. My grandfather was wounded and almost died during that war and I have other a lot of other personal stories from that time. Seeing this profanity deeply offends me and should offend any person who cares about the people who died during the WWII. I would really like the Staff of this website to allow the person to change his/her username or delete the account(s) associated with Pro-Nazi and Pro-Hitler.

I saw another one just yesterday. the account had an avatar of hitler dressed up like vanilla ice or something with "how much did the holla cost?" printed on it.

brankz

yeah I saw that guy too. I didn't really like a lot of things he had to say either. and it's true that Che Guevara wasn't as heroic and noble as people typically say. Guy was a thug, a gang leader essentially. and his gang did kill a lot of innocent people.

trysts

I've seen Obama avatars, Bush avatars, etc. People like using mass murderers for their avatars.

Umberto, I love how you inject race into the discussion when it was not there. So who is the racist? Che was a murdering fiend from a corrupt political system oppressing millions in cuba. To ingvarok, I hope you push this issue as much as possible. I dont think chess.com wants to allow this kind of offensive stuff, but they do not have the resources or knowledge to monitor it all. For instance I did not know about how 88 means heil hitler. Thanks for telling us all. We need to fight this kind of garbage.

You don't find mass murderers offensive, you retarded piece of shit?

WW2 was before you where born , what i do find offensive is you calling him piece of shit because he is expresing himself , you are trying to cash on an event that has nothing to do with you and control oother people lives with it , and thats really offensife for a person with enough intelingence to see it/

I think everyone needs to relax. Just because someone wants to praise hilter or a mass murderer does not mean anything. You do not have to look at profiles that bother you so quit complaining and move on with your lives.

There is a difference between "mass murder" and killings that go on in a war or revolution.  I highly doubt that you people, especially Savage, are pacifists.  Most likely, it's just that you are on the "other side" (i.e. pro-Batista, right wing reactionary types.)

Most if not all of the people Che and Fidel killed had it coming.

that's just not the case. their militias ending up killing a lot of innocent people. usually just what happens in those types of situations. shouldn't romanticize things. bloody wars are bloody wars.

yes people don't be alarmed if you see a sudden drastic rise in neo-nazi paraphanalia or more and more people praising mass murderers. everythings fine. don't worry.  nothing to be concerned about.

Tons of people already do... It will never change.

@OP: I am very sorry that you are offended by a member's username. As sympathetic as many of us would like to be of your indignation, the name of any potentially offensive member should not be divulged in a public topic--a practice commonly called "naming and shaming." Instead, please bring your disputes confidentially before the staff via a Support Ticket.

A Support Ticket would also deprive other contributors of their ammunition, many of whose comments could be thought unacceptable and even compound the offense taken. While a public forum topic can sometimes create fodder for imflammatory posts, a private ticket can prevent them altogether.

mass murderers sure are popular all around the world it seems. I haven't seen the CEO of union carbide yet though. he's probably short or something and has a bad haircut.

while it can't be denied that policies of both, and most world leaders throughout history, have led to many innocent people being killed, it is kind of strange to use the word "murderer" since that implies malice and intent. I severely doubt obama or bush actually had malice for the people who have died or intended to kill them.

That is actually what I mean. "Murderer" is a very strong word
