You didn't wait long enough; It's only a semi-necro thread... 
It's very annoying to have topics that are years old coming up again. The people in conversations that have long finished with may not appreciate them coming up again. Sometimes people will have learned or improved and will be different individuals, so reading posts by them will be very confusing.
I suggest you please lock them after a set amount of time so they can't be bumped to the top again. Some people bump threads that are 5+ years old. That's not a conversation or dialogue, they should start a new topic.
