... the time delay betwee asking for a game & the actual setting of an opponent is increasing dramatically, sometimes taking several minutes.
... there seem to be about 1/3 the number of games going as players on-site. Even if there are only 1-on-1 games going, that's 1000s of others not in a game.
Responses to seek ads will depend on the time of day and the popularity of your seek setting / limitations / your own rating. Change any of those, and you can expect a likely change in seek response time.
So, you're noticing 2/3rds of us here are actively playing chess which sounds about right (not sure what your point was).

I greatly appreciate the site BUT I have noticed that, especially in the past week or so, the time delay betwee asking for a game & the actual setting of an opponent is increasing dramatically, sometimes taking several minutes.
That's a considerable amount of time when one's only intending to play a agme of 5 min. per side. Genberally there seem to be about 1/3 the number of games going as players on-site. Even if there are only 1-on-1 games going, that's 1000s of others not in a game.
Further, there are times when the software sets up an opponent who then aborts the the game but attempts to re-set a game keep linking one to the same player.
Has anyone else had these problems (I suspect so).
