I have the same problem, i always play opponents around my level, in blitz that is. Does the aor calculate the daily games as well?

Where does it state it is last 3 months? I see it for online chess saying that, but not fo live chess when I look at my stats.

Also, it would be nice if the stats were always recalculated based on the user selection. From what I can tell, there's this input selection that allows you to set 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, 1 year, all time, but it only applies to the rating graph, which is pretty annoying.

Interesting. Without going through your archive and doing the math myself the "last 3 months" designation does seem suspicious. I've reported this to the developers. Thanks!

there are tons of ratings! If somebody gets higher than 2850, whoopee for them!! There is NO average rating, you could playing the five year old who's rated one hundred or the ten year old who's rather a thousand, or anybody really, there isn't an average

Average rating of opponents is what is being discussed. If you play 4 games against a 1200, 1400, 1600, and an 1800 then the average rating of those opponents is 1500. That is the statistic the OP is concerned with.

I just calculated my 30 day average opponent rating, and it's 1792 (from 01/18/2016 going back 30 days). I happen to have a PGN dump from 10/30/2015, and my average opponent rating from that period is 1783. I reached my all time highest rating in December 2015 (rating was 1903) so I would have to assume my 90 day average opponent rating is higher than 1792, maybe 1820 or something like that. Currently my stats show 1700 as my average opponent rating over 3 months, so I'm pretty sure the description is wrong; it's the all time average opponent rating.

you can see it via Android app or the new web site. maybe other places but that's where I've seen it.

I am rated 1761 at the moment and have been around 1700 or above for the past 6 months or so now, and it says my average opponent for the past 3 months is rated 1240. I don't know what to think haha.

My Avg. Opponent Rating 3mos. looks more like All Time, while All Time looks like 3mos !?!
Chess.com, you should fix it, it's embarrasing !
Even more so cause it appears to me that your developers just switched the formulas.

The "average opponent rating" seems wrong to me. It seems to me that it represents the all time average rating, rather than the last 3 months average rating as it states. The average 3 month opponent rating it shows is 1690. My rating has flucuated between 1700 and 1880, (mostly in the middle of that), and my seeks are always -50 to +200 of current rating. So the average rating for 3 months has got to be more in the range 1750-1800.
Also (unrelated), using the v3 design for web, it was pretty hard to find the "Post new Topic" button. Eventually I found it (obviously), but it was in the sidebar box containing recent posts. Should be at the top or the bottom, like every other forum out there.
