I have been able to post match results from OTB games by copy/paste from an excel spreadsheet. Of course, that's only a small table, typically 5 columns and 6 rows. I do know that anything wider often goes off the right-hand-side, overlapping with the alerts panel...
Tables in Forum Posts

That works to some degree but you have to be extremely careful not to screw up. Once you do you can no longer delete the table out of the thread and have to start a new thread copying all the existing info in and then reinsert the corrected table. Often the formatting also gets all goofy. I need a 12 x 12 table to keep track of scores and pairings. News posts are great but they send out notifications every single time you update the table or if someone comments which heavily annoys the members of the group. You are kind of stuck between Scylla and Charibdis.
Hi,
does someone know how to best handle tables in forum threads? News items have great functionality when it comes to tables. Forums under the old format don't have tables at all, the new version has tables but they are so basic and rudimentary that they are of little use. For instance, after creating a table and posting it you can no longer add columns or format the borders. Copy and pasting tables from Excel always ends up goofy with the same lack of editing. Would be great if the code that drives tables in News posts would be available in forum posts.
Thanks!
