Team vote chess rating

I think that chess.com should add a vote chess rating, comment down below if you agree. (or if you don't, then tell me why)

I don't comepletly disagree but I just think that what if the move you voted for isn't the highest voted so you kinda depend on your team.

I don't know if this if a good reason but that is what I thinkSmile

I can see why that would be a problem. But the vote chess rating would not be that important (I don't think) so its no big deal

Other then that, I agree with your statement!

If you mean vote chess ratings for teams, then I agree. If you mean for individual players, then I don't.

Thats a good idea MainlineNovelty about the team vote chess rating, but please elaborate about the individual rating and why you think there should not be one

I think it's a bad idea. Are you really making your own decisions in vote chess? Most of the time, you either vote for what the suggested move in the chat is, or your vote doesn't matter at all. You would be getting a rating based almost completely off of other people's thoughts. I'd even consider that cheating. So no, I don't think it will be added.

I believe it is because that you would vote for a move eg. Nc4 but instead d4 is most voted. Then your move wasn't played so an individual rating isn't so great.

Also, if there was an individual rating, how would it be calculated? Mostly if your voted move wasn't the most voted so it wasnt played.

Could you get ratings for voting the move most voted?

These are just questions that could pop up in your head. Think about them.Smile

Mabye instead of having a rating, (I'm basing this of your idea GM_phrostbyte) just give 2 points (kinda like chatting points but not actually a rating) to the people who voted for the best move (stockfish engine best move)

1. Often there are numerous moves of equal value.

2. Often engines will change its evaluation over time.

3. Often engines are wrong.

true

Adding onto awesomepuppy's idea of chatting points, how about it doesn't have to be the most voted move but the move that a chess computer thinks is the best? Just an ideaSmile.

Chess.com can possibly change the amount of points a player has if it changes it evaluation (take away or add points).

If there is moves of equal value, give 1 less point to both moves player votes.

Example for equal value:

Nf3 and Nc2 are equal value moves. You get rewarded 2 points for the best move. So if you vote either Nf3 OR Nc2, you could get 2 points for you vote being one of those or 1 point if you vote those moves.

Hopefully you know what I mean. If you don't I can explain it later!
