The new chess.com app

What is the feedback on the new app.? I think it is fine except for one big drawback - the chess piece design. The shapes seem more angular and unbalanced (e.g. the pawns) compared to the previous design. The effect is to make looking at a position visually more difficult. Although paying 'premium' membership, I find myself using the main website rather than the app at the moment. Why not include the previous design as an option?

How long has this new Android app been available?? I am new to chess.com I have been on here about a month tops. There are many things that I am NOT able to do from my phone, I have to sign in through facebook and play that version because if I sign in on the website it's in desktop form. One of the things that you cannot do on the facebook version R you cannot look up other players or look at their profiles games excetera. I'm torn if the version I have is not the latest then I will have to deal with crashes and the other problems I'm hearing of. It sounds like a lot of the options that I'm not able to do now are available.
