This site does not follow chess rules

Why has this site not been programed with the correct chess rules? I have just lost a game on time. However, my opponent only had a knight and his king therefore insufficient mating material which should result in a draw. Secondly there was a 3x repitition of moves which again should result in a draw.

Feedback welcome.

Kind regards,

you have to claim the draw for repitition.. LIKE IN REAL LIFE.

In live chess it will follow the insufficient mating rule but if you had a pawn and your opponent knight and king, it is possible to mate by him using your pawn to help you mate, and it could be easily proven.

Puchiko

Three-fold repetition must claimed, both in OTB play, as well as in on-line (by clicking the draw button). It is not automatic.

As for the game, http://www.chess.com/livechess/game.html?id=7671658 , you had a pawn. If you played completely illogical moves, the pawn could restrict your king's movements in such a way that the knight and king could mate.

To put it simply, if you have other pieces on board apart from your king. a knight and king might be sufficient material to mate.

SirValence

yeah if they're are any pawns left on the board for either side it is not a draw by insufficient material.

rrrttt

wrong

Why do I find it sinister when I see an abnormally large number of bishops on a board?

Streptomicin

I how do you imagine to promote 6 Bishops with 8 pawns on the board?

And that is true. It can not be draw by insufficient material. It can be draw by 50 move rule, repetition...
