players would have to be in good standing and have played a certin number of games.

Sandbagging would be a major problem in this.

 

Imagine a 2000+ player making a new account, plaing it occasionally for a month or so while blundering constantly and then join the -1100 tournament.

He'd basically get a free premium membership.

then players who are a year+, make those annoying year anniversery trophys useful.

All these problems can be worked out no problem.
