Translation one sentence not possible

As a non-paying (or free) member, I see the sentence "Ads keep Chess.com free. Upgrade to remove ads! |   Report" on every screen.

But it's not possible to translate this sentence to dutch.

And your point is?

There are more untranslatable texts. Even worse are the wrongly translated (google translate and such), uncorrectable texts. Already reported this, but it doesn't seem to have a high priority at the moment...

I think the best option is to switch back to English ;-) But you can also try to report it at the Dutch translators group.

The only thing you can do is add an alternative translation, if that feature is working at all. The staff is not removing sentences that are wrong period. I think the door is wide open for inaccuracies to slip in. The sentences are already offered without any context , which makes mistakes or strange interpretations more likely.

I guess the idea is to let it resolve itself: Bad sentences are going to be voted down later as long as the option remains open.

My problem is that I've also volunteerd for helping translating, and this sentence stands on every page of chess.com and it's not offered to translate.

And yes, when translating you're missing the context. For example: I've been offered multiple times to translate the word "To". This translation is one I skip everytime, because the context is very important before translating this word.

I hear you. It turns out the system can't handle any specific corrections from volunteers at all. We'll just have to see.

I used to play the Dutch. It didn't translate into a lot of wins.
