Two things to change

My browser is chrome.

1. When viewing a live game, the "x" to close out the tab containing the game is only visible on a hover-over with the mouse. By having a hover-over, it makes it difficult for people to figure out how to close the tab when the game is over so that the board no longer appears. I was actually unable to figure it out. I had to ask someone. I also saw a thread where someone had to ask the same question.

2. When posting in the forum, the down arrow for the scroll bar does not work. The up arrow works fine, but the down arrow defaults to the feature that allows you to expand the size of the window.

I'd like to add one other thing....

There should be a way to report a forum post that is inappropriate.

In most forums, there is a small icon inside the post for reporting a post. It's a very easy way for members to report spam and abusive language.

Like this....

In this thread - https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/origins-of-how-the-knight-moves?page=2

There is no good way to report a post like this.

[Please don't reproduce offensive content in the forums or name those allegedly creating it - thanks. David, moderator]

You can report things by clicking on Help and Support at the bottom of the page.

That link is to report spam.  I posted that you click on Help and Support at the bottom of the page.

That still does not solve the problem. If you have abuse, you don't just create a thread in "Help and Support" and explain the abuse. That's not what you are supposed to do.

Your supposed to navigate your way to the "Submit a Support Ticket" page which is NOT easy to find. Do you even know how to find it?

You have to find the support.chess.com page. There is no handy link anywhere to get you there.

When you do find that page (How, I have no idea...) you then must know to click on the small "Contact" link in the upper right hand corner.

From there, you may then submit a ticket to report abuse. None of this is really explained anywhere.

Is that not cumbersome?

This is why there should be a small link within every post that gives you an easy way to report the bad post. It's standard actually in virtually all forums.

I have submitted many, many tickets to staff for various things.  Never had a problem finding how to do it.  It just takes some intiative.

It's ridiculous and I don't see why you seem to be discrediting the idea of a "Report this post" link when virtually every half-decent forum on the internet has one standard.

It's time consuming and frustrating for a new member to discover the process necessary for doing something as simple as reporting a post.

Is this the only forum you've ever been a member of? It seems so...

In V3, the menu also has a "Help" icon under which you can "Ask a Question" or "Report Abuse"

Please don't reproduce offensive content in the forums - we created that thread dedicated to spam as we moderators found it useful to delete it more quickly, whereas abuse has a whole process behind of dialogue, warnings and possibly sanctions that is much more extensive.

The info you have provided is not for reporting abuse in the forum. It's for the live chat window in live games.

I'm talking about the forum. When somebody posts something offensive or inappropriate, there should be a "report" icon in the actual post itself. Think about how great and easy it would be for people to report spam and other forum violations! They just click a small icon, type the message and send the report.

That's 100x better than the process chess.com is currently using for reporting spam and abuse that happens in the forums.

Virtually all forums have this.
