I am using messages only to get information about upcoming team matches. I used to wait a few days before checking such message, in order to join less matches (and only those where I'm really needed). I could just use read/unread status to see if I checked (and joined) the match.
In v3 all my messages about team matches are in one long conversation with chess.com and they are marked unread automatically. It made me switch back to v2 a while ago, but as I recently read that v2 isn't going to be around forever, I'd rather ask for the feature than wait before it's too late.
Really great point. I think threaded messages are amazing for person to person interaction, but perhaps we should look into it for group communications/invites/etc.
