is there any moderation on the site to filter abusive language on the chat appearing to the side when playing a game? I simply do not understand such attitude and, call me prude if you so want, I do not accept it ... latest example on a game played today [removed - please don't reproduce abuse in the public forums - David]

many thanks

hi kaynight --many thanks, will find the option to do so. The reason for my question was to know if said chats were monitored --albeit by a robot or something like that as I understand no physical person can actually do that.

There's an autofilter that checks words against a dictionary, but serial abusers have generally figured out ways around it - reporting them for this helps us identify them. That's one of the options given in the very helpful FAQ entry https://support.chess.com/customer/en/portal/articles/1444877-what-should-i-do-if-another-member-is-rude-or-abusive-

You gotta walk the playing sleep while drinking.

I'm sure that sentence was an abuse of verbs. What you gonna do?
