When one starts a game or a rematch I would like to be the able two choose if I am black or white

You can only choose your color if you play unrated.

When you lose a game and you play the same person again should you not be white? Chess.com is only random.

It should probably alternate on rematches. I don't play outside of tournaments very often, so I don't know if that is always true.
