Why is there no take back option?

There is a takeback option. When you create a game for someone you have the choice of rated, unrated, & unrated/takebacks.

I tried to create a takeback game, but you wanted to crush me like a bug.

And what else?

Hmmm... like a "mulligan" in golf.

Do you know what they call a Mulligan in Ireland?  Hitting 3.

blunders happen. You learn from your mistakes. This is a stupid idea. Move on and next time do not make the mistake.

Why would you want Chess.com to lend you some alcholic drink?

Eagle502

Anyway, let's not change the subject to a alcholic drink that sounds like 'beard' when you put a 'd' on the end!

I'm the only guy here that's posted 2 comments in a row.

You should be greatful that there is no touchmove rule here my friend! CoolYou can't travel to past, it is against the laws for now.

Its a good idea to keep the touchrule policy, that way you don't have cheaters on trolling the area for softies. Although there are glitches and lagg, Chess.com see's chess games as you would in a real-ife tournament. So thereofore you don't run into silly problems, Don't get me wrong, It would be nice to have a takes-backies button..

I think that if there was to be a take-backsies button, there should be an idea for a free-play game, where you can tack back moves and just enjoy a good game of chess, without the Rating systems,

But Chess.com has a very interesting rating system, and just as you play in a rated-tournament there is no takies-backies.. Its also very important of self-control, even if your on an ipad-ipod-Computer or any electronic device. "Think with your brain, not your hands"

ssakash

I don't think it's a nice feature to implement, many cheaters could exploit these features and use it to their advantage.

I believe ICC has this capability....if you make a blunder like you are referring to and wish to take it back for the purposes of continuing a meaningful game (unless you are a beginner and wish to work on mating patterns or winning won positions, etc. all sorts of exceptions) you can click on the "Take Back" button, and it will offer to the opponent to take back your previous move. Therefore, it comes down to your opponent as to whether or not to allow the take back. This feature has worked successfully there, so I don't see why it wouldn't work perfectly fine here.

  Options; good.  Smile

A reverse sides option would be interesting too.

Eagle502

if there was a takeback option you need your opponents permission, and anyway, it wouldn't be fair.

If there were a takeback option, then it would be almost impossible to win or lose, since you could easily take back a mistake you made, so neither of you would blunder or make any mistake of any kind. You may as well be allowed to use an engine!

Isn't that what the submit button is for on the mobile app?

With a mouse I think it is much less of an issue.
