Analyzing other people's games

Obviously, using a computer to analyze your own games in progress would be a blatant violation.  But is it against the rules to use a computer to analyze the games of your tournament opponents that are still in progress?  I might want to know the probable results of those games to figure out what kind of record I'll need to advance.

Was this the wrong forum to post the question?  Or does everyone just not know?

As long as its not at the start of a thematic tournament it should be fine I guess.

Too be safe, why not just analyse his/her finished games?  Or are there not enough games then?

The point was that I want to predict the standings, to see whether I'm better off playing for a win or a draw.  I'm not analyzing them to find his weaknesses or anything.

Obviously, yeah, if it was a thematic and I had the same/similar position in my game, that would be bad.  This isn't the case; the tournament started a month ago and isn't thematic.

I'm just going to be the silly person who asks; and I'm sure it has been asked before... How would it be discovered that you have analysed another persons game? Soz lol.
