can someone explain the 'events entered' number?

Granted, i'm a fresh fish when it comes to tournaments here, but i've given a more-than-cursory read through the info on the site and i have yet to understand what the 'events entered' number signifies.

It seems to signify how many tournaments one has entered, but my number (370, as i write this) is far higher than the number of tournaments i've actually entered (my total, including the few that have yet to start, is more like 40).

Moreover, i've looked at other people's profiles, and their numbers don't seem to jibe with mine -- their 'events entered' make more sense than mine when i look at the number of tournament games they've played, etc.

Is this some kind of bug?  I've noticed other little bugs here and there as well, like the one that says my most frequent opponent (in non-tournament, daily games) is someone with whom i've played far fewer games against than my actual most-frequent opponent.

I apologize in advance if i'm missing the obvious somewhere -- alcohol is a hell of a drug.

Look at my stats, I've entered like a gazillion events. Sort of. But not.

Right -- so it shows that you've entered more events than games you've played in said events.  It says you've entered over 1400 tournaments and played less than 1400 games.  Doesn't make much sense -- the number of games you've played would be several times more than the number of events (tournaments) you've entered.

You should open a ticket via the link Martin included above -- the more they hear about this (and the more examples they see of it), the better.

Huh, now i notice yet another weird thing with my stats:  they show that over 30% of my tournament games (168 out of 555) were draws.  No.  Not true.  30% is crazy, at least for someone at my low skill level.  And i average less than 3% in every other type of game i play in (960, non-tournament Daily, Blitz, Rapid).

Any update on this? I've been wondering about this as well.

I sent them an email (or two) about it, and they punctually and courteously responded that they're working on the stats "site-wide," or something like that.

So, i guess they're aware of it.  I'm going to try not to bug them about it again for at least a few more weeks, even though i've since found one or two more anomalies in my stats (again, mostly in relation to tournaments).

I imagine it could only help things move along the more they hear about it, so i encourage you to send an email to the support staff about it if you haven't done so already.
