Sorry to spam the forum, but registration's been slow, so...

It's time once again to celebrate March Madness, hopefully this year without the seazy agents, under-the-table bribes, and Dick Vitale. Join the Sexy 64, and let all of those other losers duke it out in the Chess.com NITs.

This is a move-a-day, no vacation tournament. Good luck to all!

Not that it matters, there is all the time in the world in correspondence chess but March Madness type tournaments can take longer than you might think.

By coincidence there is a tournament with the same 2(1)->1 format very nearly finished after over 10 months. Starting 2011 April 05, it has taken the practical minimum of eight rounds, not the theoretical 6 rounds.  http://www.chess.com/tournament/fast-knockout-2-open

This one will be at least ten rounds  http://www.chess.com/tournament/fast-960-64-faceoff.

Groups of two can be tricky, with a 100% tie break failure, there is a very strong possibility of extra rounds, even an infinite number of rounds. Almost but no cigar  http://www.chess.com/tournament/the-final-countdown . Only 18 rounds.
