Yes, you're right. All the other participants died long ago. Now he's waiting for something to happen to me - perhaps a meteor strike.

mcris

are you by chance talking about [...], which has over 1200 ongoing games, and instead of moving, keeps entering vacation?

wanmokewan

Every time he does that, a minimum of 24 hours is taken off his vacation time. Eventually he will run out.

mcris

I didn't say he is a cheater, just stated the facts that anyone can see.

Ok, I remove the name also.

mcris

After losing hundreds of games, the (not) said player lowered his rating under 900. All transformed in a huge case of sandbagging.

Look, two years ago I wrote a long, angry post about time out abuse. Later I deleted that post because it seemed to me that my opponents time was their's to do with as they saw fit. If I wasn't happy with it, then I could find something else to do for entertainment. This is what I think nowadays.

A few years ago, I was receiving annoyed, impatient comments from an opponent telling me to move faster. I finally disabled the chat function for the game. When I checked out his game page, I discovered that this was his only active game. If I could remember his name, I'd check to see if he ever got a second or third game going.

mcris

The think you overlook is that I am not angry at all. I only state facts - in order for the site to fix the vacation time management - and I think they already did something about that.

mcris

I can do whatever with my time  (as even OP advocated). I don't like unsolicited advice.

The avatars of democracy. I recommend Plato's Republic - excuse me for giving advice Smile

Just as your opponent can...

@Diakonia: It was a bug of the site - when he had only minutes left to move, the opponent was taking less than one day of vacation time, but when he came back, the game was showing 3 days of thinking time.

Was it resolved?

I'm truly sorry that I ever posted those time abuse complaints two years ago, though I never would have guessed that the discussion would somehow include Donald Trump. My next post will be about staying on subject.

odyson

mcris, see my post on gaining time on the clock.

mcris

Yes, somehow the problem was resolved, the guy lost hundreds of games (as I already posted) so his rating lowered to under 900 points. That brought the posibility to lose many points if defeated by him. That's why I posted it is blatant sandbagging.
