Most certainly. Some people will deliberately drop hundreds of points to compete in a lower rated tourney. All for a worthless virtual trophy. Go figure
Have you ever encountered any hustlers in here,i mean people whose rating is quite low and they compete at low rating tournaments while in the past they have achieved 1700+rating and since somebody might say that 'they are new but still good at chess',all of them have 500 + games played....
