What's the reasoning for a 12(1)->2 format where you want speed? In the worst case scenario, the slowest players won't start their second game until all other games in the first round are done.
With one game at a time per opponent a single round takes roughly double the time of a 6(2)->1 or a 6(2)->2.
In your tournament there will be two rounds so the winner will be decided in roughly the time it takes a four round tournament where both games per opponent are played at the same time.
Perhaps you set it up so you can play everyone in the tournament?
