Is it possible to start the tournament with a holiday?

I want to play in this tournament:
http://www.chess.com/tournament/27th-chesscom-quick-knockouts-1201-1400

But confuse two things:
1. I am guaranteed to be able to make the first move only the 6th of January.
2. Tournament title for the rating of 1200-1400. But there are many registered players with a rating above or below.

1. If you can't make your first move until January 6th, I would suggest waiting until the next iteration of the tournament. I think those come up every other month. That said, I don't see that it is a "no vacation" tourney, so if you are on vacation when it starts, you might be fine, however you are likely to anger many of your opponents who are expecting a move a day.

2. My understanding of the official chess.com tourneys is that the players that don't qualify for a section at the start will be moved to the appropriate sections.

Perhaps their ratings were correct when they joined, and raised or fall later.

Yes. If your rating becomes 1401 or higher, then you will be moved up to the higher rated tournaments. If your rating becomes 1200 or lower, you will be moved down to a lower rated section.

I hope that in Finland hotel will be WiFi. Or I use roaming. I was already playing in a Christmas tournament and it will not finish in two weeks. Embarassed
