i would like to know the answer to this aswell!
Longer live tourneys?
I have asked this earlier, but apparently Chess.com feel that the tournaments become so ,ong that too few will be able to play through them.
You would have to play for 4+ hours.
Hmm....if people do not want to play for 4+ hours they just don't have to enter! out of the thousands of players online at any one time i can't see it being that hard to find like minded people who would enjoy a longer tournament at the weekend....even if it's on a trail basis to see how it rolls.
I would love it, but im also sure that I would only be able to play through such a tournament a few times a year. It is hard enough to find opponents for 60+ min. games.
I've played in several longer tourneys on ICC and WCL...game 25/0 or 30/0 and 99.9% of the time a 5 round game will only be about 3 hours. That's not too bad for a tournament.
They could be shorter tournies as well. 45/0 for 3 rounds or 30-60/0 for 3 rounds...I think those are perfectly acceptable things.
I know that online, people tend to enjoy short games to pass some time, but I also know that people enjoy longer live tournaments as well.
Is there a way to create a live tournament that is 30 minutes per side in length?
