OTB Tournaments

It depends on where you live. Your profile says Idaho. There is a tournament in Pocatello on April 14th and 15th. There are no other upcoming tournaments listed for Idaho.

You would have to join both the US Chess Federation and the state chess association.

 You need to bring a clock. They will have boards and pieces.

You save money if you register in advance.

You would play five four hour games. That is a lot for anybody in two days.

No. You would go in as an unrated. You would play a mix of rated and unrated players. You would be eligible for the unrated prize.
