Quick Knockouts - Time per move.

tl;dr The 12 hour average time limit is outragous and should be removed.  This is why you have time controls.

I think this limitation should be lifted because this punishes people that play longer time controls like 3 day or 7 day.

This would be like putting a limit on a bullet tournament of 5 seconds a move, you basically limit your audience down to only bullet players and it will cut out blitz and standard players.

So now I am rushing through all the Daily Games, trying to bring my average time down.  Which BTW, you can only see your avg time via an API call and it is not even available on your stats page.

The Average time should be removed as a requirement.  That is why you have a time control.

The limit is placed to try to have players that tend to play more quickly, on average, and potentially shorten the length of the events. Players can still use the full time to make moves.

I do not believe that the 12-hour average changes anything. You know you are signing up to a 1-Day TC. Just like it you are a regular Standard TC player and you try your hand at Blitz, you know it is 5 0 vs. 30 0.

In my 1st round in the current Quick Knockout, 4 of the players did not show up and the 5th timed out after 1 move. A very unsatisying +10-0=0 result. The 12-hour average did nothing to stop this.

People not playing or timing out isn't uncommon in the first round of a tournament. Unless there's a very low timeout ratio set and a higher minimum games played, then that's going happen.

For those that do play through, they're going to tend to play more quickly, on average, on most of their moves when that setting is in place.

I still disagree that they "tend to play more quickly". I like playing 3 Day, because I can manage a higher number of games and if I run into a difficult position and not feeling it, I can just wait till the next day. I sign up for 1-Day, I adjust my pace. I play 2 1 bullet, I adjust my pace.

I should not be barred from playing in a Quick Knockout because I want to play a slower TC.
