I am currently in an online tournament on chess.com for which the first round has already lasted 3 years and 3 months and, by my calculations, will last close to 5 years (for the first round)...

At first I was frustrated but now I'm curious...

I was wondering, what is the longest online tournament (and in-person chess tournament) in world history?
