Hello

Today, i played one 90 min each OTB game in a club.

My opponet lost by check mate. That time he had only his king. and given hand shake and said good game.

After a min, he said , no during play you adjusted your piece in my time, so i am winning. He went to arbiter and said same thing.

I explained to arbiter that when i tried to move one of my piece and it fell down so i adjusted, obvously i move only during my time.

Also even if i did as he claimed, he should not claim after he got check mated right?

He want now 1 full point, though he had no other pieces while he  check mated.

I explained arbiter everything, I dont know what they will do.

I read FIDE rules it was not clear for this issue.

Will you any one explain me about this

Thank you in advance

Any claim must be done at the time of the infraction. Your opponent has no claim.

Hi Smyslov fan,

Thank you for your comment.

I told this to arbiter also, but still he said, he need to discuss with some one about this.

1) when i give check mate to him, i had only 1 sec.

2) i am plying in chess club , one game per week and it is national rated game.

I don't believe there is a rule that you have to adjust pieces only on your own time, but it is good etiquett.

No actually when i try to move one of my piece fell down, so i adjusted it,

with out doubt, i move only during my time.

It is very painfull after 3 hr hard fight. after giving check mate. this is happening Innocent

Your opponent is a sore loser. Why is he grumbling about the game after he shook hands with u and said good game?

Poor manners by him.

Also, even if the ruling went against you (which is hard to imagine)... any dispute that affects the clock-times is resolved by ADDING time to the offended player's clock, not by SUBTRACTING time from the offender's clock.
