These are incremental time controls similar to sudden death time controls in OTB tournaments. For example 10/15 maens you get 10 mins to complete the game and everytime you move, 15 seconds are added to your clock. In OTB games, this allows in the faster time controls to write your moves down while being able to make the game last around the time control.
