One thing i forgot to mention is i find it interesting that the initial rankings (based on ratings) seldom reflect how the tournament will play out. It is not unusual for the winner of the tournament to be in the bottom half of the initial rankings.

Although there is plenty going on at chess.com the thing i enjoy the most are the tournaments. As my rating is under 1500 most the time i can play in both the under 1500 and the open tournaments. When i am in the under 1500 my goal is to try to win the tournament or at least place or show. When i am in an open tornament my goal is to finish higher than my ranking in the tournament. Of course there are many times i don't reach my goal but i think it makes it more interesting when you set one. At some sites i have played at you have to wait hours for the next tournament and they often only have the same time control, i think this is where chess.com really beats the competition. Thanks to all who make these tournaments possible (including of course the players themselves).
