How do u think about vacation abuse in daily chess. People often use it to stall their losing position, and hope the opponent forget to make a move. And then this "vacation" guy still play bullet/blitz/rapid after he claim on vacation 🙄. Do u feel the same???

And this is related to online tournaments how?

That is why chess.com reduced the amount of vacation time. But it might not have applied retroactively; one of my opponents still has three (3) months instead of the intended one (1) month.

If they do that you can report them for stalling. Sometimes it even works i.e. soon after being reported they either make a move or resign.

The only opponent who stalled against me (@Julian086 ) is a friend who I often meet in the OTB club, so I told him about it and although he claimed that it was “internet issues”, he apparently solved the problem right after he got home. (Probably there wasn’t any problems-or why was the problem suddenly gone after I confronted him?)

There are two very easy ways to fix this problem:

- If you play a game while you're supposed to be on "vacation," the vacation mode automatically disables itself and cannot be reenabled for a short period.
- If you abuse vacation time too much, your vacation time may be "frozen" (i.e. you can't use it at all anymore) at the staff's discretion until your behavior improves.

Implementing both of these ideas at once, in fact, would almost certainly be for the best.
