Colonel Issac Trabue prize to be offered now to winner of 2007 American Chess Association US Open Chess Championship @ Oasis Resort Casino-Mesquite Nevada September 1-3. Thanks to an anonymous donor, in memory of Colonel Isaac Trabue (who once defeated Jackson Showalter in a match), who died 100 years ago in 1907, The Colonel Isaac Trabue Memorial Prize will be offered this year and in subsequent years to the winner of the American Chess Association's US Open Chess Championship winner. It will consist of a basket of oranges and pineapples and will become a new tradition for the event.
