How To See Players' Live Ratings
You can see every player's live rating and rank on Chess.com/ratings (note that this feature is not available on our apps). But what exactly are live ratings?
FIDE publishes rating updates on the last day of every month. Between updates, players officially have the same rating for the entire month, even if they've had a fantastic performance. This month, for example, GM Arjun Erigaisi had a great showing at the TePe Sigeman Tournament. With four draws and three wins against a strong field, you'd expect him to gain rating. However, FIDE's website will display his current rating of 2751 until June 1.
By contrast, our Ratings page shows you, in real time, how his excellent performance will affect his rating and rank. His results will earn him 10.4 extra rating points, taking him from 11th place to eighth in the world, at least for now. Ratings and rankings will continue to update throughout the month as players compete in rated events—but you'll have a much better understanding of how players' official ratings are likely to change the next time FIDE publishes their list.

On our page, you can switch between the official and live ratings using the dropdown menu at the top left of the page.

You can also choose to include inactive players with the Include Inactive option.

Check Players' Activity And Recent Results
If you're wondering why a player is winning or losing rating, our Ratings page can help you figure it out. Clicking any player shows their latest game results. You'll see the tournament they played in, their opponents, when they played each game, and even links to each game.

The list shows their most recent games with classical time controls by default. You can switch to other time controls using the dropdown menu.

You can also see if a player is playing a rated game right now. If that's the case, you'll see a green Watch button. Clicking it will take you to their ongoing game on our Events page, where you can watch it live and learn more about the event.

Filter By Category And Country
You can also easily keep up with live ratings for Women, Juniors, and Girls. Use the dropdown menu at the top of the page to switch between each category.

You can also filter by a specific country. Within each country, you can select any of the categories.
