Titled Tuesday is getting its biggest prize fund ever. Starting June 2, the event will feature a weekly $10,000 prize fund, bringing its yearly total to more than $500,000—more than three times the current purse.

Titled Tuesday has become a staple of the online chess calendar. Since its debut in 2014, the event has grown into a weekly tradition that titled players and chess fans from around the world look forward to. Every Tuesday, chess giants like GMs Magnus Carlsen, Hikaru Nakamura, Javokhir Sindarov, Nihal Sarin, and others gather to compete and celebrate online blitz. For them, Titled Tuesday has long offered a chance to stay sharp, have fun in a competitive setting, and win prizes. For many other players, the event offers the otherwise rare opportunity to play against the world's elite. And for fans, it's the perfect stage to enjoy their favorite players and creators competing every week.

"When we launched Titled Tuesday in 2014, we were committed to two things: providing great events and prize funds for all Titled Players, from NMs to GMs, and ensuring the highest standards for Fair Play," said Chess.com's CCO, IM Danny Rensch. Today, we are doubling down on both! With Proctor, our online prize events are more secure than ever, and thanks to that confidence, we are thrilled to be able to increase our investment in prizes to over half a million a year in Titled Tuesday prizes. Prizes not just for the top players, but prizes at every level for the players who give so much to chess."

In 2025, Titled Tuesday took another step, becoming part of the prestigious Esports World Cup cycle through the Champions Chess Tour. Now, Titled Tuesday is taking another historic leap, further supporting titled players with a larger prize fund and more ways to earn prizes. Of the $10,000 at stake, $7,500 will go to the top 10 finishers. The first-place prize alone will be $2,500, nearly matching the amount currently allocated to the entire event.

1st $2,500
2nd $1,500
3rd $1,000

5th-6th $400
7th-10th $250

The remaining $2,500 will go to bonus prizes that can reward players even if they don't finish among the top 10. With this new system, we hope to give more players the chance to earn money from competitive chess.

"Titled Tuesday is the most exciting weekly tradition in chess, and we are thrilled to recognize that with a $10,000 weekly prize fund," said Chess.com's Events Commissioner Michael Brancato. "Just as importantly, we’re not only rewarding the top finishers but also creating more opportunities for titled players across the field to compete for meaningful prizes."

The expanded prize fund should not only benefit players but also make the competition more exciting for fans. The bonus prizes will give fans more storylines to follow throughout the event. Streamers, first-time players, returning players, women, juniors, seniors, and non-GMs will all have something extra to play for, even if they are not fighting for first place.

The bonus prizes also include the Perfect Score Bounty, which brings an exciting new storyline to Titled Tuesday. Every week, $250 will be added to the bounty. If no player scores a perfect 11/11, the prize rolls over, potentially growing into one of the most exciting side stories in Titled Tuesday. Only four players have ever finished with a perfect score, doing so on eight occasions. How big will the bounty get before someone claims it?
