brianpawn, who scored 3 out of 3, took the gold in last night's Double Nickels swiss, while Tijuanaboomboom topped Culjakben on tiebreaks for silver after both won 2/3.
In the first round, Brian faced off against Shaungarvie's Petrov's Defense. Brian won a knight and later blundered his queen but recovered to win the endgame.
On board 2, Slothnroll (playing white) faced off against TBB in the Four Knights game. TBB found a checkmate utilizing the bishop pin and won early.
Culjak, playing white on board 3, offered Juicegiusti a Queen's Gambit which was declined. Juice played well until he lost a pawn and then a knight, with Ben ultimately up by 23 points when he noyched the win.
In the second round, Ben played an English vs Brian and was up a pawn when brian found a fork, resulting in culjak losing his queen and ultimately the game.
On board 2, TBB offered a CuljakbeDanish Gambit with a tight, mostly even game until TBB found a fork, winning a bishop and ultimately the endgame.
In the final round, Brian faced TBB's Petrov's for the gold medal. TBB made a questionable rook sacrifice, allowing Brian to trade multiple pieces and win.
On board2, Shaun faced Culjak's Sicilian and blundered a pawn, then eventually lost two more pawns in the endgame before losing the game
