The Chess.com PogChamps is nearing the end of the group stage. On Friday, Yassuo clinched the final championship bracket berth against MoistCr1tikal, meaning that players were fighting for superior seeding on Saturday. NymN pulled an upset against Forsen, while Erobb and SlikeR both found unique paths to victory.

The group stage is set to finish on Sunday, starting at 12:45 p.m. Pacific Time (21:45 Central Europe). Once the matches are complete, both the championship and consolation brackets will be revealed.

Erobb's Huge Win

Following the draw between NateHill and Fuslie earlier this week, this game had no bearing on the final Group A standings. Voyboy, wanting to help Erobb justify the validity of his Chess.com username, resigned before delivering mate-in-one and gave Erobb his first win over the board in the event.

Off the board, Erobb scored an even bigger win, later announcing on stream that he was a brand new father and introducing his beautiful daughter on stream!

On the board, the win was not completely undeserved, as Erobb had played his best game of the event, showing remarkable improvement after his previous two losses. Even after losing a piece, he managed to keep the game close and challenged the tournament favorite in key moments.

With the loss, Voyboy still is the clear Group A winner, netting him the $1000 cash prize. While the League of Legends streamer needs to wait for Sunday's result in order to determine his opponent in the championship bracket, Erobb already knows he faces MoistCr1tikal next in the consolation bracket.

NymN Upsets Forsen, Wins Group C Prize

Many fans touted Forsen as the Group C favorite prior to the Chess.com PogChamps, but NymN brought the fireworks in Saturday's clash. After winning an exchange, NymN's endgame technique was strong enough to take down the favorite. Chat erupted when he called Forsen a "frozen bag."

During the interview, Forsen acknowledged the shortcomings of his Budapest Gambit but said he was counting on NymN to blunder first. While Hikaru Nakamura was able to identify a few areas of improvement, NymN never conceded any real chances to his fellow countryman:

Both players are now headed to the championship bracket and will learn of their respective opponents tomorrow. Forsen will now play the Group D winner, while NymN will face the loser of Papaplatte and Boxbox. With the win, NymN takes the $1000 cash prize for winning the group.

SlikeR Escapes Against xChocobars

SlikeR won his first game of the Chess.com PogChamps against xChocobars, but it was no easy feat. The Canadian streamer won a piece early and dominated the game's pace until the players reached mutual time trouble, at which point SlikeR proved to be faster and more accurate when it mattered most.

While both players are headed to the consolation bracket, the third-place finish for SlikeR should mean a more favorable pairing in the quarterfinals. Both players will be closely watching the result of Sunday's match between Ludwig and Swiftor to learn who they will play next.

Papaplatte, Boxbox Fight For Top Spot In Group D

With both players unbeaten, this game will determine the Group D winner. Boxbox has been the presumptive favorite, but Papaplatte has emerged as a potential dark horse in the PogChamps, after beating both Swiftor and Ludwig in the previous two rounds. The winner of this match will face Forsen in the quarterfinals, while the loser will face off against NymN. Clocks will start at 1:00 p.m. Pacific Time (22:00 Central Europe) on Chess.com/TV.

Ludwig and Swiftor Looking For First Win Before Consolation Bracket Debuts

Ludwig's fans may actually be rooting for him to lose this game. With a loss, Ludwig would be guaranteed to face SlikeR in the consolation bracket's opening round. While a rematch may be what the fans want, expect Ludwig to go all out, as he's made it clear that he wants to win the consolation bracket. With a win, Ludwig gives himself his best shot, while leaving the opportunity to face SlikeR again in the final. Clocks will start at 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time (23:00 Central Europe) on Chess.com/TV.

xQc Looks To Avenge Second Round Setback

xQc's much-anticipated return to the PogChamps will be against Group B's leader, Hutch. After losing in six moves against MoistCr1tikal, many players are looking for xQc to bounce back. While both players are a lock for their respective post-group stage fortunes, this will be an interesting test for both sides. The day's final game starts at 3 p.m. Pacific Time (00:00 Central Europe) on Chess.com/tv.
