Formula One Drivers And Fans Play Chess In Las Vegas
The ChessBrahs, GMs Eric Hansen and Aman Hambleton, stopped by the Las Vegas Grand Prix race on November 20-22. The grandmasters manned a Chess.com booth at the race, playing with fans, drivers, and celebrities alike!
Racecar drivers are competitive and often into chess, as demonstrated by top drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton playing recently with GM Teimour Radjabov.
In Vegas, Pierre Gasly, a driver with the Alpine team, tried a game against Hansen. No word on who won.
Race fans from all over the world got to play with their chess and racing heroes, including TV personality, Joey Graziadei, and content creators Arthur Frederick, Speedy Morman, Sean Mike Kelly, and Rei Ami. Even the Blue Man Group challenged Hambleton to a game, but they had to leave partway through to prepare for their show! Twenty lucky chess fans took home their very own Las Vegas Grand Prix themed chess board!
