Wojo Mows Through 7 Player Field

Swojnowski recovered from a first round loss to Hellopeeps14 to knock off Bulletheadbilly and Tijuanaboomboom to grab the gold on tiebreaks in last night's Slow Mow XIII swiss event.

Wojo hung a rook late after missing a mate in three against Peeps, but forged full speed ahead vs the Bullet in round 2 before TJ hung a rook late to give him the gold. Bullet got the silver as TJ slipped to the bronze.

BHB, meanwhile opened with a win over Juicegiusti then rallied with a win over Peeps in the last round. TJ tagged newcomer CharlieYZ with a one move loss when he failed to show for round 1, then nailed Peeps in round 2 before dropping the final round Sicilian to Wojo.

Fourth place went to  Peeps on tiebreaks over the Juice, who lost his only game but snagged a 1 point bye in the third round. Sixth was CoolestKnight, who failed to show up for any games and Charlie dropped out to make the field seven players.

Players are reminded that failing to show for games after entering a swiss event is poor sportsmanship and can result in habitual offenders being banned. If you find that you can't play for some reason after joining, please drop out.

Next tournament is tonight at 6:15 pm with the 15th edition of the Double Nickels swiss, a four round, G5/5 affair.
