It's the first tournament of its kind: CoachChamps, where eight coaches select will each draft four students with the goal of guiding their students to victory! We previously announced half of the coaching field and the format, but now it's time to share the biggest name yet: none other than GothamChess himself, IM Levy Rozman, has agreed to participate! Additionally joining are super-star coaches GM Ben Finegold, IM David Pruess, and IM Andras Toth.

You won't want to miss this event, which starts on September 9 at 11 a.m. ET / 17:00 CEST / 9:30 p.m. IST and features a $25,000 prize fund for coaches and exclusive coaching sessions and other prizes for students. Go mark your calendars now!

Levy, with his 6.3 million YouTube followers, hardly needs any introduction. Four lucky players of various ratings (which Levy will not have to guess for a change!) will get to experience the methods of the "internet's chess teacher" firsthand and then apply what they learned at the chessboard.

Also joining the coach rankings for the event are:

Each and every coach is sure to provide their students with valuable insights. But whose team will reign victorious?

The previously announced coaches—WGM Dina Belenkaya, GM Arturs Neiksans, CM Can Kabadayi, and NM Robert Ramirez—also have much to offer their students. (It will be particularly interesting to see how Levy and Arturs' teams do against each other, considering that Arturs has been coaching Levy!)

To be eligible for selection to participate as a student, join our Improvers Club and participate in the 2025 Improvement Challenge! We'll choose students based on several criteria, including how supportive they are of other improvers, the content they create, their playing activity, and more.

All participating students will earn various prizes to help in their improvement journey. In addition to the exclusive coaching sessions, every participant will win a one-year Diamond membership and a $100 Chessable voucher. Students who finish in first place within their original rating bracket round-robin will also receive exclusive signed merch.
