Nicolas Checa is an American grandmaster and a participant in the 2021 Junior Speed Chess Championship. In 2013, at the age of 11, he won the New York State Chess Championship. He earned his GM title in 2019. Checa has a win against GM Fabiano Caruana with the black pieces on his resume, coming in the 2019 PRO Chess League (see Best Game).
