It is not clear when or how chess was invented, but most stories say that it was invented in India.  There were two kings, and they both wanted a game.  This was how the game backgammon was belived to be made, and chess.

The Scholar's mate is what a believe, a brilliant checkmate.  It starts with the usual King's pawn opening.   Then, qf3.  Then bc4.  And then for the final kill!  Qf7.  Try and use the Scholar's Mate.  Good luck!
