Hi Everyone,

I have created this 12th Fair Play Tournament for true chess.com players. This is part of the Fair Play tournament series which has been very successful so far.

Over the last 3 years I have been frustrated by the number of tournaments I have entered with rating limits only to find out that it infiltrated by high rated people who rejoin as new members or lose high numbers of games on purpose, join a low rating tournament and win it easily.

An example of recent tournament I have entered with a rating limit of 1200 to 1450 ended up with over 25% of players with a rating of 1800 or more!!

This tournament (and further ones if successful) will be based on hopefully people who genuinely are either within this rating or close to it.

Whilst we all know that our score can move up and down and if we end up on a run of good luck we can go above our normal score bandwith (or sometimes down!). But we also know that its simply not fair if we are playing people who clearly don't belong in that tournament.

By using the settings available, I have been able to ensure that only players with genuine scores can participate.

My success rate in this has meant the games have been competitive and fair, giving everyone the chance to win games and progress.

Obviously I can't ensure 100% that someone won't find a way to sneak in, and therefore I reserve the right to withdraw you from the tournament if you score moves 100 points above the original rating range. This may seem harsh but I am being honest and upfront. I want fair competition between players.

This tournament allows vacation time, but again please use it sparingly and with consideration for your opponent. Anyone found abusing this will be removed.

If you have any questions, please let me know!

Good luck!
