    Who will have a higher tiebreak will go to next turn. Tiebreak is the sum of scores of your lose opponents.

    PimpSlap, do not afraid and click on resign button before your opponents, and all thoughts will be about travel.

    PimpSlap...just win the game.  Why are you afraid you'll lose it on time?

    hey!  to my excellent opponents but I have been in and out of the hospital for several weeks now and I am not playing my best nor keeping up with you.  Please except the delays I only have two more trips and I should be better.  I will try to make daily moves so you guys can get on with the tournament.  Thanks again  Papa.

    I think along the same lines as you Sean. It's a small sample size but so far there are 47 games completed in the 2201-2400 rating tournament.

    White Wins: 19 (40.4%)

    Black Wins: 17 (36.2%)

    Draw: 11 (23.4%)

    @Viveks20, only one person goes on to the next round unless there is a tie in both score and tiebreak score.

    @buffalorock,

         I didn't check, but I would guess that if you look at the higher rating brackets, the percentages would probably look more like what the game explorer suggests.

    At the grandmaster level, black almost always starts with the idea of a draw, only trying to win if something very good happens. At this level, long complicated defensive schemes to cause a draw aren't well practiced so there is a lot less people going for a draw rather than a win.

    I like to look at how black vs. white does in opening tournaments like this. I thought I'd share with you all this time in case anyone else was interested. I decided to tally up the results now because after I am eliminated from the tournament I can no longer post in the forum. I looked at the 5000 games with the most number of moves in an effort to minimize the effect from timeouts. 841 of these games are still in progress so the results of the completed games are below:

    White Wins: 2043 (49.12%)

    Black Wins: 1913 (46.00%)

    Draw: 203 (4.88%)

    The book opening on chess.com statistics show White winning 40% of the time, Black winning 28.3% of the time, and a Draw 31.7% of the time.
