1st Maine Online Open

This is the 1st Maine Online Open (for Daily Chess). This tournament is run by the official chess.com account of the Maine Chess Association (MECA), the USCF State Affiliate for Maine. This account is administered by the office of the Secretary of MECA.

The time control is three days per move. Everyone is paired in groups of five and everyone plays each other one game, all simultaneously. This will result in everyone playing four games simultaneously. One player advances from each group to round two. However, if there are ties in a group all players involved in the tie will move on. 

The winner (and runners-up) will probably have to play 3-4 rounds (depends on the number of tied players that advance). 

This is going to be an exciting event and there will probably be some fantastic games played. We have decided to allow vacation time but please use this respectfully as it can delay a tournament if multiple players abuse it.
